Jordan, like the rest of the world, has been greatly affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Throughout the pandemic, our priority at Sijal has been ensuring students’ safety while making sure that they can continue to learn Arabic. Sijal is now offering both in-person and online coursework in order to accommodate a variety of learning preferences.

For our in-person classes, we take measures to ensure everyone's safety. Classes are kept small and the institute is sterilized daily, including all touched surfaces. Should a student fall ill with Covid, we welcome them to attend class virtually as they get better. While masking is not required, anyone who prefers to mask is encouraged to do so.

As of 1 March 2022, entry requirements for Jordan are the same for all travelers, regardless of their vaccination status. The Gateway to Jordan Travel Declaration Form (https://www.gateway2jordan.gov.jo/form/) no longer requires vaccination information, and PCR testing before departure to and upon arrival in Jordan are also no longer mandatory.

COVID vaccines are free and widely available throughout the country, regardless of your nationality. Both rapid and PCR COVID testing is widely available across the country as well. Vaccination status is no longer legally required upon entering indoor spaces.

Given the ever-changing nature of the situation, we will do our best to keep students updated on any changes with these requirements. The evolving nature of the pandemic means that there is always a possibility that businesses and schools will need to close in response to changes in government guidelines. We appreciate our students’ flexibility and understanding as we work to navigate these unforeseen challenges.
