A group of writers from Al-Hudood Newspaper spoke about their work and the role of satire in covering current events. Al-Hudood (The Limits or The Borders) is an award-winning satirical Arabic news publication founded in July 2013. It originally focused on satirical journalism in Jordan and came to encompass news from the Arab world and from around the world, working with Arab writers and cartoonists from different parts of the Middle East and North Africa.
We host lectures and cultural activities every week in the Fall and Spring terms, and twice a week in the Summer Intensive programs. The lectures span history, politics, music, literature, journalism, sociology, environmental issues, and much more! We’ve been honored to host a number of notable speakers at Sijal, and a non-exhaustive list of lectures that have been held in the past can be found below.
